About us

The Hispanic Medieval Book Network (Red del Libro Medieval Hispánico) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers that approaches the analysis of medieval books, both manuscript and printed, from different and complementary points of view.

Philologists, historians, art historians, paleographers, linguists, specialists in librarianship (library science?), codicology, bookbinding, book history and digital humanities, have joined forces to create a working group that addresses the complexity of the Hispanic medieval book.

We began our activities in 2013 with a first meeting at the Complutense University of Madrid and a second one in 2015 at the University of Lleida. We were formally constituted as a Network of Excellence in 2015 (FFI2015-69029-REDT). The group has been greatly strengthened by the contribution of other specialists and young researchers with similar interests and concerns.
